    The 15th annual GIS Day is here on November 19th! Organizations across Texas are celebrating it in a variety of ways. Find out what's happening in your area by going to the official GIS Day website. If you have a GIS Day event scheduled but have not registered it on the website please do so now so that others interested in your area can find it.

    Below is a just a couple of GIS day events that were brought to the attention of URISA Texas:

    1. Coastal Bend Area GIS Day: The Coastal Bend Area GIS Day event is a learning opportunity co-hosted by: Del Mar College, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi and Texas A&M and University-Kingsville, Coastal Bend Community College, Coastal Bend GIS Group, and the National Information, Security, Geospatial Technology Consortium (NISGTC).     2. Williamson County GIS Day: Coordinated by the Williamson County GIS Council this is a collaborative outreach effort among several government agencies and private organizations to promote the use of GIS.

    Announcing the new QGIS Certificate completely online starting in September 2014.  Learn and earn a college undergraduate CE certificate in QGIS software.  The program offers up to 5 courses, all based on QGIS 2.4.  For more information, visit this page:
