    Job Description:

    CMEC is seeking an energetic, self-motivated, and resourceful senior GIS analyst to join our team as a Program Manager. The duties of a GIS Program Manager may include delegating responsibilities, communicating with staff, technical consulting with clients, allocating resources, budgeting and tracking logistics of GIS projects, as well as working directly with GIS. This position would include preparation of field maps, public meeting exhibits, and graphics for environmental documents. Accurate quantification and display of data is a must.  Compensation will include a competitive salary and benefits package (health, vacation, profit sharing, etc.).

     

    Qualifications:

    Successful applicants will possess a BS/MS in geography (or a closely related field) or a certificate in GIS with 5 to 10 years of experience as a GIS Manager, GIS Coordinator, or Senior GIS Analyst, preferably in environmental consulting or with a relevant agency.


    Essential Qualifications:

    • Strong project management skills, collaboration and ability to work effectively in a team environment
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinates, peers, superiors, and clients
    • Plan, organize, supervise, review and evaluate the work of GIS program staff in a manner that is conducive to independent judgment, and high performance and personal accountability
    • Demonstrated experience with ArcGIS Desktop software and maintains expertise in GIS-related software and technologies
    • Thorough knowledge of cartographic design and the ability to produce high-quality professional maps
    • Ability to perform the routine and complex GIS analysis and geo-processing tasks
    • Experience converting design files (MicroStation & CAD) into ArcGIS deliverables
    • Familiarity with the geospatial datasets relevant to multi-disciplinary environmental studies that are available from government agencies and other entities 
    • Understanding of coordinate systems, map projections, datums, coordinate geometry and geo-referencing  

    Ideal Qualifications:

    All of the above, plus any of the following:

    • Experience in environmental consulting
    • Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop or similar software packages
    • Proficiency with database software
    • Strong commitment to QA/QC procedures
    • Experience with GPS units and the ability to transfer data to/from GPS & GIS
    • Familiarity with Surface to Grid conversions
    • Proficiency with ArcGIS Online (including webapps) and/or ArcGIS Pro
