Asset Management: Building a Foundation for Smart Decisions

Presentation Outline:

Cities across the country are faced with aging infrastructure and limited funding.  The City of Fort Worth Transportation and Public Works Department (TPW) realized the need to better understand where their assets were located as well as their condition to help prioritize their work and understand their aging infrastructure.  This presentation will focus on their efforts to do a citywide inventory and condition assessment of pavement, curbs, traffic signals, streetlights, sidewalks, ramps, signs, pavement striping and pavement symbols.  As well as TPW’s efforts to implement an asset management software solution.
