    As part of the ITGIS (Information Technology Geographic Information Systems) team and under general supervision, the purpose of the position is to participate in the development and maintenance of the Enterprise GIS System.  Performs editing, updating and output of geographic data.  Perform spatial analysis of geographic data on request. As part of the IT department, perform other duties as assigned, such as updating tickets, field work, update database, hardware, and plotters. Work is performed under the direction of the GIS Manager.

    Full access to the Enterprise GIS software suite for all geospatial needs (i.e make maps, analyze geospatial data, and share results to solve problems).

    Creates and makes edits to our webmaps, Story Maps , Survey123 , and Dashboards.

    Assists in the maintenance of the SQL server GIS database and coordinates design of output documents (i.e., maps, reports, and graphs). You will learn about our versioning system.

    Attention to detail to update our GIS database (i.e., road alignments, structure placement, and address range adjustments).

    Performs spatial analysis of geographic data on request (i.e., geocoding, hydrologic modeling, and terrain analysis).

    Supports other GIS staff members with their tasks.

    Helps Digitize (i.e, AsBuilts, and Plats).

    Assists in data collection.

    Performs other duties as assigned.


    Work requires working knowledge of GIS and relational databases (specifically ArcGIS and SQLServer), conceptual knowledge of spatial analysis, skills in GIS, mapping and/or computer drafting, skills in automating data, computer hardware and graphic peripherals, and a working familiarity of a Windows based operating system.

    Requires the ability to utilize a variety of information, such as plats, surveys, zoning and utility maps, engineering drawings and land ownership records.

    Requires the ability to perform mathematical operations involving basic algebraic principles and formulas, and basic geometric principles and calculations.

    Requires the ability to exercise the judgment, decisiveness and creativity required in situations involving evaluation of information against measurable or verifiable criteria.

    Requires the ability to perform skilled, coordinated movements, such as operating digitizer, scanner, plotter and copier.


    Associates degree with training emphasis in GIS; one-year previous experience and/or training utilizing ESRI ArcGIS Desktop and AutoCad or at least 6 months of undergraduate academic experience with use of ESRI ArcGIS Desktop and AutoCad.

    Minimum 3.0 GPA
